EUCA'S LARGEST INDUSTRY EVENT

The Annual BBQ is EUCA's largest construction industry event. The BBQ provides a casual and friendly atmosphere to network with your peers while enjoying great food and cold brew. Who Attends

Each year the BBQ is attended by contractor and associate members, potential members, union organizations, political guests and EUCA affiliates. Last year we had over 600 people in attendance. We hope you will join us this year for a relaxing and enjoyable evening with peers.

Raffle

Raffle item contributors will be recognized at the BBQ, EUCA magazine and post-event press release. Provide raffle donations by July 30 to Jenn Rogers at the EUCA office. Raffle proceeds benefit the EUCA Scholarship Fund.

Hot Rod and Custom Bike Show

Show off your vintage vehicle or custom motorcycle (NEW THIS YEAR) at the BBQ. Fellow EUCA members will vote for their favorite hot rod and motorcylce. Only pre-registered vehicles and motorcycles will be allowed at the BBQ. Cars and bikes must arrive at the Fairgrounds by 4pm. Cars and bikes that arrive after 4pm will not be included in the show. Two complimentary drink tickets will be given for each car and bike registration. Register today!

Hot Rod - Vehicles must be from 1977 or older.

Custom Bikes - Custom motorcycles only, please.

Competent Person Trenching & Excavation

Registration Fee - $90 per member / $115 per non-member

OSHA requires a competent person to oversee all excavation and trenching work sites. The Competent Person Trenching & Excavation program is designed to simplify the task by providing participants with the information and training needed to become an OSHA compliant, competent person.

This course has been revised with the current Cal/OSHA Construction Safety Orders, Sections 1540-1541, Title 8, California Code of Regulations, dated August 2007 and Subpart P - Excavation Standard of the Federal OSHA Regulations which includes definitions, general requirements, requirements for protective systems and soil classifications.

Participants receive a student manual and are expected to pass an open book test with a grade of 80%.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

Display knowledge of the Cal/OSHA, FED/OSHA Trenching & Excavation Regulatory Standard.
Read and understand OSHA Charts & Tables
Understand how to categorize soil classification and correct soil testing procedures.
Understand how to select and use different types of protective systems.
Identify hazards associated with trenches and excavations.

Cal/OSHA recommends that Competent Persons be re-certified every three years.

All participants who pass the field course test will receive a certificate and wallet card.
